headspeakerJoI manjoeat. TuYou manjeseat. LeiHe manjeeats. NósWe manjonoseat. VósY'all manjeiseat. SomThey manjeneat.
headspeakerLike in Spanish and other romance languages other than French, the pronoun can be omitted.
headspeakerI am OscarOscar,, ¿eiand sesyou are?
headspeakerThe Subjuntive voice is used when talking about subjective or unreal events, to propose something, or to desire something (equivalent to may).
headspeaker¡VanosLet's go!! ¡VanosLet's go fosto lathe festaparty!
headspeaker¡Tenas boune probeMay you have luck! ¡Ti prestxe la festaMay you enjoy the party!
headspeakerJust like all Romance languages, Tinianan also has genders, but contrary to most it has three genders, masculine, femenine and neuter. Articles and Adjetives vary depending on the gender of the word:
headspeakerLa festa davertaThe fun party (femenine), Lo mocho davertoThe fun boy (masculine), Le ceil daverteThe fun sky (neuter)
headspeakerTinianan also has a Genitive gender, similar to English's Possesive gender. It is usually used in "two-word concepts", such as "orange juice".
headspeakerSümo oranjaïsOrange juice (genitive singular), Casa canïnDogs house (genitive plural)
headspeakerThe Tinianan alphabet has two extra letters, ñ , and ç. Ñ makes a ny sound, and Ç makes a z sound, "weak c" and "z" are pronounced like th in the word think, the "x" is pronounced like sh, Tinianan articles have an apostrophe if the next word begins with a vowel:
headspeakerL'atarñothe step,, L'azaleathe azalea, Lo coraçónthe heart, Lethe xeiwill
headspeakerTinianan also has some diphthongs (two letters that make one sound): ll just like English ll, jx makes a h sound, zx makes the dz sound, tx makes a ch sound, cx makes a ts sound, cs makes an x sound and ch makes a retroflex z sound, like the Polish "rz", however text-to-speech is not able to recreate this sound, so it will sound more similar to sh.
headspeakerL'allançaThe alliance,, Lethe txarréiwarning,, Lethe jxagehome,, Lethe dazxéidesire,, Lethe cxapáishoe,, Lothe tacsitaxi,, Lethe chagetask.
headspeakerTinianan also has 4 vowel marks, the acute accent (á) marks the stressed vowel following some rules that aren't important now, the grave acute (à) makes different sounds depending on the vowel, ò makes a less-deep u sound, à makes an ow sound like in the word "saw", ù makes an ü sound (again text-to-speech is unable to recreate it) and è makes an ea sound like in the word "pearl". The circumflex (â) marks long vowels, it can also be written with an h behind (ah) instead. The umlaut (ü) is used in the ï to make a weak i sound and in the ü it makes a wi sound.
